The CQYD/IX-100N Inflatable PFD Belt is a lightweight and compact personal flotation device designed for adult users who are capable swimmers and remain close to land or within reach of available rescue assistance.

Worn around the waist, the belt contains a single independent air chamber that remains folded inside the compact outer pack until inflation is required. Once activated and fully inflated, the chamber provides at least 100N of buoyancy and is designed to help keep the wearer’s head, neck and shoulders above the water.

Compact Belt-Pack Design

The CQYD/IX-100N uses a compact waist-worn pack measuring 8 × 24 cm.

Its lightweight format provides an alternative to a bulky flotation vest for experienced swimmers using the product in suitable conditions. The compact design allows the air chamber and inflation system to remain enclosed until buoyancy support is required.

Rapid Inflation

The independent air chamber can be activated by pulling down on the manual inflation cord. The product page also states that the chamber can be inflated when the inflation mechanism is submerged in water.

The air chamber inflates in less than five seconds. After complete inflation, it provides at least 100N of buoyancy and is intended to help support the wearer’s head, neck and shoulders above the surface.

Multiple Inflation Methods

The CQYD/IX-100N provides three ways to inflate the air chamber:

• Manual pull-cord activation
• Water-activated inflation
• Manual inflation through the oral inflation tube

The oral inflation tube can be used to add air to the chamber manually when required.

Reuse after Inflation

Effective buoyancy is provided only after the air chamber has been completely filled with gas.

After the inflation system has been activated, the air chamber must be deflated and the used CO₂ cylinder must be replaced before the belt can be prepared for reuse.
